Reference designators, quantity per board, manufacturer, manufacturer part number, description and package. Add approved alternatives as separate, clearly identified options.
Clarify exceptions
Mark do-not-populate positions, customer-supplied inventory, substitutions requiring approval and special handling requirements.
Reconcile the data
Check BOM quantities against your placement file and schematic. State the board revision and the number of assemblies requested.
